Colistin is a polypeptide antibiotic produced by certain strains of bacillus polymyxa var.colistinus. Colistin is an antibiotic that has a bactericidal action when given in normal doses. Colistin attaches itself to the bacterial cell wall, so disturbing the permeability of the cell wall and causing the plasma contents as purine and pyrimidines to escape from the cell. This results usually in lysis. Acts mainly against gram – negative bacteria.

Indications
For prevention and treatment of infections caused by microorganism susceptible to Colistin Sulfate:
Poultry and Turkey: For prevention and treatment of Colibacillosis and Salmonellosis infection.
Calves, Lambs and Kids: Gastro-Intestinal Tract infection (neonatal diarrhea) caused by E. coli and Salmonella spp.

Dosage
Treatment Dose:
Poultry and Turkey : 250 g / 1000 liters of drinking water for 4-5 days.
Calves, Lambs and Kids : 500 mg / 20 kg body weight for 3-5 days.
Preventive Dose: Half the treatment dose.
Note: Not use for dairy animals for human consumption.
Storage
Store in a clean, dry, cool place (< 25 ˚C) and keep away from direct sunlight.
Keep out of reach of children.
